The Wikimedia universe comprises not only the hundreds of Wikipedia versions in different languages, but also sister projects like Wikisource or Wiktionary. Among the newest of these projects is Wikidata (https://www.wikidata.org/), a knowledge database collecting facts from Wikipedia and beyond. This workshop will acquaint participants with the easy-to-use query interface (https://query.wikidata.org/). We will introduce the query language and will learn how to ask specific questions; we will organise and visualise the results.

Participants are asked to bring their laptops, no prior knowledge needed. Duration of the course will be around 2 hours, but with an open end.
